Welcome to the BASF celebration of 100 Years of the Master Builders brand
1909The Master Builders Company was founded on Christmas Eve 1909 by S.W. Flesheim with a $4,000 loan from his uncle.
From the very start, the company got in on the ground floor of the worldwide manufacturing boom. The first Master Builders innovative technology replaced wood block flooring in factories with a more wear-resistant and attractive surface. Master Builders technology and building products helped move the construction industry - and commerce - forward.
Master Builders flooring systems for factories were sold to customers around the world, including the Ford Motor Company and the Packard Motor Car Company.
Over the next decade, Master Builders products bearing, "the man with the trowel" literally became the foundation of this new industrial age.
