Welcome to the BASF celebration of
100 Years of the Master Builders brand

1930s

The 1930s were a period of rapid innovation for Master Builders and concrete chemistry. In 1932, the first Master Builders brand admixture - Pozzolith® - was introduced. This revolutionary, water-reducing product improved quality and durability, and introduced uniformity and repeatability to concrete construction.

This decade also saw the introduction of accelerators and water-repellent admixtures for concrete, mortar and cement stucco.

These innovations came at a perfect time. In a tough economy,
concrete offered an extremely cost-effective and easy way to build. Master Builders innovations were advancing the industry and opening new possibilities in concrete construction.
