Newest mobile concrete spraying unit provides state-of-the-art mobility and application capability
The Underground Construction Group (UGC) and MEYCO Equipment, both divisions of BASF Construction Chemicals, today announced the launch of the MEYCO Poca, a compact, comprehensive mobile unit for the professional spraying of concrete in underground construction.
“The Poca offers a complete package that addresses all our customers’ needs -- mobility, serious application capability, and easy-to-use MEYCO technology,” said Thomas Kurth, General Manager, MEYCO Equipment. “In designing the Poca, we consulted directly with our customers who are constantly working under extreme conditions and require safe, efficient and robust operations.”
The Poca is available in two formats, either entirely diesel driven and independent of outside power sources, or electrically driven for spraying operations. Its main components are the MEYCO Simpla double-piston concrete pump, the MEYCO Rama spraying manipulator, and a 4x4 Dieci chassis.
“The Poca’s value is in its ability to make our customers’ lives easier,” Kurth said. “Its driving size allows it to go where larger units cannot, and its superior engineering and design allow it to be installed and ready to perform within minutes of arrival at the face. In addition, the MEYCO team is able to provide on-site service and support to help customers realize the full range of capabilities the Poca can offer.”
Other important features include a remote for full control of the spraying operation, a robust and reliable dosing system, the MEYCO nozzle system for 65 or 80 mm id. delivery, a hydraulic powerpack positioned high on the vehicle for better cooling, and all electric components labeled for easy identification.
The Poca is also compatible with the UGC range of technologies for underground construction, including concrete admixtures and thin spray-on liners (TSLs).
The Poca will be on display in BASF’s booth at the 2008 MINExpo International Show is Las Vegas, Sept. 22-24. For more information about the Poca, visit booth #3226 in the North Hall, or visit the MEYCO website at www.meyco.basf.com.
