Sustainability in the Construction Industry

"A business cannot be succesful in the long term if it does not act responsibly toward the environment and society. That is why sustainability is an integral part of our strategy. As "The Chemical Company", it is especially important that we constantly extend our efforts in this area."
~ Jürgen Hambrecht, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, BASF

The market for green building products and services is estimated to grow to between $10.2 billion and $20.5 billion by 2010.

BASF Construction Chemicals offers a range of eco-friendly products, technologies and services to help concrete producers enter into this lucrative market, while maintaining the quality, cost-effectiveness and ease-of-use contractors expect.

As part of BASF – The Chemical Company, we have received multiple honors for our sustainability efforts, including the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations list, among others.

BASF's Sustainable Product Offering

One of the ways the U.S. construction industry measures sustainable green building and development practices is the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™, a universally understood and accepted tool and performance criteria.

BASF offers a number of admixture solutions that, if implemented correctly, can potentially contribute to the earning of LEED credits. In addition, we offer other eco-friendly products that make efficient use of energy and natural resources.
